I'm spinning up a new branch office next month for a few dozen users, and am going to be in need of buying a bunch of 6" and 1' ethernet cables for the patch panels. I love Monoprice as much as anyone, but the thought of cutting open the individual baggies and opening the twist ties on 200 patch cables is making my soul hurt.
Does anyone sell short patch cords that are packed in a not stupid and wasteful manner?

I have theses two switches, 3Com 4500 and 3Com 2928.
3Com 4500 - IP: 20.20.X.X ; Mask: 255.255.240.0
3Com 2928 - IP: 192.168.1.X; Mask: 255.255.255.0
And a printer(20.20.2.1) connected in the switch 3Com 4500 and i need access this printer from the devices on the 3Com 2928. I already tried to make a trunk between the switches, and the same Vlan(Vlan 100) in theses two switches one with interface and another without interface, and enable IP Routing, but doesn't work.
I dont know if this is good practice or not, but i did this way...
I create 2 Vlans in each switches
Switch A:
Vlan 255 - 10.5.0.1; 255.255.255.0
Vlan 100 - 192.168.100.2; 255.255.255.0
Swtich B:
Vlan 255 - 10.5.0.2; 255.255.255.0
Vlan 200 - 172.168.200.2; 255.255.255.0
So i create this routes:
Switch A:
10.5.0.1 - 255.255.255. - 10.5.0.2
172.16.200.2 - 255.255.255.0 - 10.5.0.2
Switch B :
10.5.0.2 - 255.255.255. - 10.5.0.1
192.168.100.2 - 255.255.255.0 - 10.5.0.1
Now the Switch A can ping i the switch and the vlans of the "B" and "vice versa". But i can't ping from Vlan 1 in any other vlan.
We just upgraded from a Cisco 9396 to a 93180 and have output errors on almost every active port. We did not have these with the 9396. Our trunk ports, which are the higher capacity links, are getting input and output errors.

I feel like it is a buffer issue or an iOS issue. This is causing issues to our other connected switches I believe as well.
I am waiting on TAC to give us access to download newer software.

I was a big fan of Motorola EWLAN portfolio (called WiNG at these days) and still own two AP's coming from Motorola days. It is really unfortunate that after endless cycle of acquisitions this product range has been fell so behind the competition marketing-wise. Motorola guys are really futuristic and has all vision and ability to execute from very early days of mobile-era (like, they are investing into mobile locationing in very early stages)
I have just checked my Extreme Portal account and realized that there is an firmware update with a major change of version number, from 5.9 to 7.1. Actually expecting to see the regular Flash interface will be discontinued, but it seems like they can not. What a technical debt :)
Just wanted to share my feelings and some info. Feel free to comment and share your experiences from Motorola days. Also if anybody has some info about where Extreme is heading, it would be great. I guess they have already ingested 4 Wireless brands into one.

Just wanted to get everyone’s opinion on a rough estimate of recommended maximum amount of clients associates per AP?
I know it depends on a variable list of things (Client usage, client devices etc).
In a high density, office environment - what is a rough estimate of max clients associated to an individual AP?
I’ve also used the rule of thumb of anything over 25 is a bad idea.
We have an 8-site VPLS WAN we are turning up, and I would like to use BGP to route across it instead of EIGRP which is used on the legacy WAN. I've gathered that this is generally a Good Idea and we've had flapping issues with EIGRP in the past.
However, I'm internally debating whether to use eBGP or iBGP across the VPLS links and I'm soliciting your advice on the subject.

JDSU was dropped (not by me) and caused quite a bit of pin damage. I did attempt to bend them back, with one snapping in half in the process.
It's still of course giving inaccurate readings, so I'm looking to replace the pin connector. I took the back off and it looks like when you remove the PCBs you can unscrew the connector.
Anyone have any idea where I can get these kind of replacement parts?

I've been dwelling on how to have this 700SQM office implement wi-fi.
Initially, I've thought about mesh wi-fi to have seamless mobility with only one SSID, connections more than 50 within one big production area.
However, after contacting TP-link for their business solution series EAP, it's not recommended to utilize mesh wifi for big office space with walls in between, not to mention we might have more than 50 connections in one area.
The next option I have my eyes on is, wifi-roaming, this can also achieve one SSID anywhere I go in this 700 SQM space.
Please kindly point out a hint for me, any suggestions, which device/brand is suitable for my need.

I have some homework on Valid IP hosts. You're given an IP address and you have to figure out the class, whether it's private or not, etc... which I havent had any problems with. However, it also asks "Network ID (N), Broadcast address (B) or valid host (V)?" I've been going through my notes/slide shows and googling like crazy and I don't know what they are asking. I am using an Alcatel router , After resetting my router I can not access the 192.168.1.1 website , I cant also find my router wifi name , it is shown as Openwrt .
how can I overcome this problem ?
