Connecting two routers

I have to connect two routers with different speeds - 150 and 300Mbps. Which one should be the main router?

This is a very basic question forgive my ignorance.

Which cable should i use if i want to run internet through a building, internal wiring through walls. Coming in from outside and then using the cable to direct it inside. Bandwidth possibly around 300Mbps.

ASN info through ARIN??

Maybe this is the wrong subreddit but I'm looking for the downloadable database for the ASN "AS21928" which is T-Mobile USA. I downloaded the ARIN and ARIN-NONAUTH databases and it places it under XO Communications which presumably manages the infrastructure for T-Mobile. I go to various IP sites and they have T-Mobile as the proper organization and the address. The closest I can come to this information is in the Level 3 database. However, It's missing the organization address, abuse contact info etc. Where is the proper database for this!? Anyone know? Or is the info not downloadable and only accessible through RDAP and queried on the fly?

Forwarding Certain Destinations Through Proxy

Hi,

I'm trying to set up some kind solution that will forward certain Destination IP's via a Proxy server for a home LAN (so something at the Gateway level / in front of the Gateway), but other traffic will not be proxied.

The Proxy is in AWS, and the idea is that if a request for a destination IP is made anywhere on the network e.g. requests to 116.202.244.0/24 , the traffic should be proxied via the AWS server. The router/gateway is an Archer VR1600v.....so I don't have high hopes of this being possible, but just thought I'd get some expert opinions as I haven't dug up anything useful yet.

Ddns with custom domain

I know this is propably really easy, but I cant figure out how to do it. I own a domain and I want to be able to connect to my minecraft server with for example mc.xxxxxx.xxx, but I dont have a public ip adress.

vSRX in VMware Workstation can't ping its gateway and internet

Hello,

I deployed the vSRX in the VMWare workstation and made all the connections bridge. My PC and modem are connected to a switch.

Modem: 192.168.110.1

PC: 192.168.110.110

vSRX ge-0/0/0: 192.168.110.250

the vSRX is not able to ping PC or Modem or internet, but it can ping itself.

I tried to make all the interfaces promiscuous mode via editing the vmx file and adding the commands:

ethernet%d.noPromisc = "FALSE" 

But until now I'm not able to ping anything, any thoughts what is wrong?

why there is no ipv1,ipv2,ipv3 or ipv5 ?

why there is only ipv4 and ipv6? where are the other versions of ip?

Do Juniper access switches ever lose all configs?

I'm an all Cisco house and I've had a few times where an access switch (2960) will lose all its configurations. Just goes back to default on its it's own. Wondering if Juniper access switches do the same sometimes?

Troubleshooting a 10GBase-T Link

I have a Netgear M4300 connected to a Netgear M4200 via 2x 10Gtek ASF-10G-T SFP's. The link is CAT6A UTP and is only 45ft. It isn't shielded but I do not believe that is the problem here. It's also not near any common interference sources.

The connection is stable *most* of the time. Occasionally, I will notice devices connected to the M4200 are offline. When I pull up the Monitoring page of the M4300, it will show hundreds of Link Down Events and it will count up at about one additional per second. All it takes to fix the problem is pulling either end of the CAT6A and replugging, or rebooting either switch. It's not a loose connection or a bad termination. It will work again stable for up to a day, and then act up again.

Th M4300 logs "SFP interrupt received on the unit" every time this happens. What does this error mean?

Given how much it DOES work, it doesn't seem like a physical wiring problem. The link works fine on two gigabit ports.

Right now I am suspecting one of two things: 1) a bad SFP module, or 2) one of the SFP modules is overheating? I took out the one from the M4200 and it was VERY hot.

The setup is used for AV production multicast video (NDI) and the link is actively delivering around 800 Mbps continually. I'm not sure if throughput increases a module's likeliness to fail. But, 800 Mbps on a 10G link shouldn't be breaking a sweat, right? I understand that link speed is not the same as throughput.

Before it is mentioned, fiber is not a good idea for this setup. It will be connected and disconnected several times a week and I don't want the client to have to clean fiber ports every time. Also, industrial/tactical fiber connections like Neutrik OpticalCON are pricey.

Any pointers for troubleshooting this would be great.
