Are there any MAC OSX VM hosting clouds that offer private network connectity like Express Route, Direct Connect or Cloud Connect?
Microsoft Azure has Express Route
Google Cloud has Cloud Connect
AWS has Direct Connect
Alibaba has Express Connect
However, none of these clouds can offer Mac OSX virtual machines, because OSX virtual machines can only run on a hypervisor running on Mac hardware.

Do any of the mac hosting environments have a private networking connectivity option? If so, preferentially ones that have partnerships with Equinix Cloud Exchange?
Port Forwarding Issues
Having issues with port forwarding on my ISR. I have it as my border router in my home network, with PAT to get all the computers inside to talk to the outside. ZBF has been setup and seems to be working properly, but when trying to assign static NAT to access the web server and mail server in my DMZ (lab computers), I just cant get them to work. Port scan shows everything that should be open, is being filtered, but anything going to those ports just times out.
Note that any traffic from the inside is translated properly.

Working at Cisco/other vendors
I was wondering hows it like to work at a networking company like Cisco/Juniperas a network engineer? I seems like most of their roles revolve around sales unless youre working at TAC. Did working here boost up career or do you feel you couldve made the same or more progress somewhere else. How was/is the pay compared to regular enterprises? Theres a couple positions open in my area as a SE but i dont know if it’s something id be interested or if eould bring me any benefit for experience
Poe Switch for 10x Unifi AP
Hi, I need to install 10x Unifi AP AC Long Range Acess Points, I'd like to use a PoE switch because there won't be outlets nearby each AP.
Reading the AP's specs it says:
Power method: 802.3af/A PoE - 24V Passive PoE (Pairs 4, 5+; 7, 8 Return)
Maximum Power Consumption: 6.5W
The maximum lenght of the drops will be about 85 meters.
Thinking about future-proofing my setup (as I might need to add more PoE stuff later on) I was thinking buying a 24 ports Unifi US-24-500W switch (500w). Do you think it's way too overkill for my scenario?
Also, reading the specsheet of the switch, can´t find if all the ports are PoV or just some, like in another switches.
Might be a very dumb post for most of you, lol! Just trying to understand this better with your help!
How to Log IP assignment to clients ? Legal Need.
Being a AS owner and provider in my country means that i have to keep track of each IP that i assign to a client in a specific time due to legislation.
How do udo that ? There's any software (opensource or otherwise) that helps automate this ?
fiber optic in dusty environments
Does anybody have experience with terminating fiber into splice boxes or switches in dusty environments? If so what are the optimal connectors? Our company uses mainly NTRON switches. The environment is rice milling and there is lots of super fine dust that slowly enters the cabinets. Im thinking of a ring architecture because it will add additional layer of redundancy.
Troubleshooting WAN issues
Hello all,
I have recently joined a NOC team where we mainly focus on monitoring networks and provide WAN support. We have full access to all of our customer's routers, so my question would be after I have done the initial and basic stuff like line checks, power cuts on site, reset router, exchange, dslam etc, what troubleshooting can I do on the actual router's (juniper and cisco mainly) to verify or find issues? I have used the show interface " " to verify bandwidth connections, show process cpu, to verify utilization, but I'm guessing to check the connection something like BGP would get involved which I'm not too confident as yet.

A tool that can combine subnets.
I am working on some default address lists for firewalls and wanting to block off huge blocks of the internet.
My problem is that there are allot of subnets and thus allot of entries in the lists.
Since i am blocking everything except 12 to 30 countries and many have almost overlapping subnet domains i am looking for a tool that can unite complementary subnets so that i limit the number of entries in the address lists and gain some performance.
Is this a thing?Or am i on the long road of DIY?
